What to Expect

FIRST AND FOREMOST

We offer professional therapeutic massage services only. If any sexual intentions are implied or acted upon you will be asked to leave immediately.

Benefits of Massage

Massage can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety, and create an overall sense of well-being.

Arrival

Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Appointments begin promptly as scheduled. If this is your first visit there will be some paperwork for you to complete prior to the beginning of your service.

Spa Etiquette

Because we provide a tranquil and stress free environment we ask that you turn your cell phone off before entering the spa.

While we love children, we ask that you please make other arrangements for them while you enjoy your relaxation session.

Teens may receive services, if they are under 16 years of age a parent must be present for the duration of the treatment.

Cancellations

Your appointment time is reserved for you. A 24–hour advance notice is required and appreciated when canceling an appointment or you will be charged the full fee for service {except in cases of illness or emergency}. Should you forget or consciously choose to forgo your appointment for any reason, without proper advance notice, you will be charged in full for your missed appointment and future services and appointments will be denied until payment is made.

In the event you booked your appointment to redeem a gift certificate and you cancel your appointment without 24–hour advance notice or you do not show for your scheduled appointment time, your gift certificate becomes void and unusable.

Advance notice of cancellations allows us to contact those waiting on our waiting list. Therefore, please do not fill your appointment by sending someone in your place. We will contact our waiting list to fill vacant appointments.

Medical Conditions

Doctor's NoteIf you have ANY type of medical condition or are under a doctor’s care please be sure to mention it when you are booking your appointment. Certain massage treatments may not be advisable for you or may require a doctor’s written recommendation prior to your session. Also, before your treatment begins, let your therapist know of any medical concerns.

Communicating Your Preferences

Your comfort and care is of our greatest concern and priority. Each massage session is customized to your individual preferences and comfort level. Prior to beginning your massage you will be asked by the therapist how your body currently feels, if you are feeling tension or pain in any areas, as well as what type of massage and pressure (light, medium, firm) you are comfortable with for this session.

Hour Glass

Environment

Your massage will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room as soft music and the trickling of a water fountain ease your mind in to a state of relaxation. You will lie on a massage table especially designed for your comfort with clean sheets and a light blanket. Your massage begins when your therapist enters the room, therefore all sessions are for a full 30, 60, or 90 minute period. We do not count the time you are getting undressed or dressed as part of your massage time.

What to Wear

Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, you may decide what amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort. The therapist will leave the room to allow you to undress and get on the massage table underneath the sheets and blanket. Please remove all clothing (to your level of comfort), jewelry and glasses before getting on the massage table. To keep you warm and comfortable you will be properly draped with a sheet and blanket during the entire session, with only the body part being worked on exposed.

During Your Massage

Make yourself comfortable, close your eyes, and allow your mind and body to fully relax. Your therapist will either gently reposition you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Your therapist will check in with you a few times regarding your comfort level and the pressure that is being used during the massage. Speak up if you are ever uncomfortable with something or would like to provide the therapist feedback. Most people prefer to lie quietly on the table to enhance deeper relaxation; however others like to talk during their session. The option is yours and the therapist will follow your lead.

Ask Questions

Feel free to ask your therapist questions should they arise. Your therapist will appreciate knowing your thoughts and clarifying any issues you may have. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible so that you can relax and enjoy your massage.

After Your Massage

The therapist will leave the room so that you may take your time getting off the table and getting dressed. Most people feel very relaxed after their massage session. You may feel freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity, greater range of motion, and/or increased flexibility. You may experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity; which can last for days.

Water bottlesIt is recommended that you drink plenty of water after a massage to help flush out toxins and prevent them from settling back in to muscle tissues. Drinking proper amounts of water following your massage may help reduce the likeliness of headaches, nausea, muscle soreness, and stiffness.

Always allow relaxation time after a massage. Hot tubs, saunas, steam baths, can assist and continue in the relaxation process. Adding Epsom salt or other soaks to a hot bath will amplify the relaxing effects of the water, and may reduce muscle soreness. You may feel some soreness for a day or two after your massage, much like you would feel after a good workout. If soreness lasts longer than a day or two, please let your therapist know at your next appointment so that the pressure can be adjusted.

Yoga or light stretching/exercising after a massage will help reset your muscles memory, which allows greater flexibility and muscle strength. Please avoid strenuous exercise after a massage.

Payment for Services

Payment is expected in full at the end of your session. For your convenience we accept Cash, Checks, Visa and MasterCard. At this time we are not able to provide medical or insurance billing, however we will provide receipts upon request. Visa and Mastercard

Gratuities

Gratuity is not included in the price of the treatment, nor is it expected. Should you feel inclined to include gratuity with your payment, as a thank you to your therapist for the services provided, 15-20% is customary, however you may of course leave more or less depending on your preference and level of satisfaction.
